Inspire for Moms and Babies

 

Ball and core class for moms and babies

This fun and unique class involves a variety of exercises performed on a physio ball.  Other equipment used may include Gymsticks, weights,  foam rollers, balance discs and matwork.  Ongoing advice will be provided for both moms and babies.  Babies will also be involved in the classes.

Suitable for all fitness levels.

Please note:  This class will primarily be a Ball and Core class but may vary from class to class to incorporate elements of the Floor and Core and RTS class based on group need.  For the combination Ball and Core to outdoor classes, the outdoor classes will be more of a circuit style class involving various types of equipment such as TRX, weights and theraband.

Cost:  $250 for 10 weeks (twice a week for 5 weeks or once a week for 10 weeks)

Outdoor location:  Edworthy Park

Babies are welcome in all classes and specific exercises and advice will be provided for babies too!

The outdoor classes are a circuit style class that will incorporate elements of the Ball and Core and Return to Sport and Function classes.  Equipment such as TRX, weights, resistance bands and balls will be used during the classes. Outdoor classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:30-11;30 a.m.

Cost:  Outdoor classes are more flexible and flex passes or drop ins are available

FAQ’s

1- Do I need to have an assessment prior to attending a class?

Yes. As the role of a physiotherapist is to monitor the individual needs of each client, it is important that each person has been properly screened before attending a fitness class. What makes these classes unique is that individualized goals can be carried out within the group setting.

*There may be exceptions if you have already been assessed by a qualified women’s health physiotherapist. However, assessment is still recommended as individual fitness goals and testing may be included.

2- How do I register for the classes?
Please e-mail info@inspirephysio.com with the class session and date that you would like to attend. I will respond and confirm that you are registered in the class.
Eg. 10 class Indoor to Outdoor option Tuesday mornings April 4-June 6th, 2017 or

5 class Ball and Core class option Thursday April 6-June 8th, 2017

3- How do I pay for the classes?
Classes can be paid by transfer to info@inspirephysio.com.  You may also pay by phone using Visa, M/C or in person by cash or cheque. Please bring payment to your first class. Cheques can be made out to Inspire Physiotherapy Ltd. The cost of the classes is $150 for 5 classes and $250 for 10 classes.

4- Can I submit the classes through insurance?
Please check with your individual insurance provider.  A receipt will be issued at the end of the session (eg. after your 10 class session has been completed). This is to ensure that you have actually attended the classes that you are claiming for.

Return to Sport (RTS) /Conditioning Class

Ready to step it up to the next level?  This class will focus on strength, cardio, balance and core to get you ready to return to sport.   TRX, weights,  balls and more will ensure you have lots of variety in your workout. Train your muscles to move in different directions and return to activity in a safe and progressive environment. This class is ideal from 6 months postpartum on and the class will incorporate fun activities for the little ones too.  Although more challenging options will be given in this class, modifications will always be provided.Please contact us for more information on class time

Pre-requisite for RTS/Conditioning class:  (one of the following)

a) To have completed Level 1 Ball and core class and if seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist to have clearance for increased weight-bearing activity.

b) Approx. 6 months postpartum and have been cleared by initial assessment to perform increased weight-bearing activity

Class schedule:

Due to the increased demand for the Ball and Core class, we have replaced the Thursday RTS class with an additional Ball and Core class for the next session.  We will incorporate some elements of the RTS class based on class need and there will be more elements to the RTS class once we move outdoors. 

Thursday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
